Hey there and Happy Thursday!!

So its been way too long since my last post and I apologize. Time is always running and it gets away from me often;)

Speaking of time, that is what I would like to be the focus of this weeks post. I have a tendency to get so caught up in my schedule and daily routine that I forget that I am alive. I forget that I am a living, breathing, human creation. I forget why I am really here. I know all of this sounds rather silly, but it is very true. I get so consumed and focused on things like my school deadlines, what’s for dinner, and where do I need to go and when do I need to be there?? Then I start thinking about what went wrong and what didn’t go my way and blah blah blah. So many questions and so many distractions.
One of my favorite songs in the whole wide world does a fantastic job of explaining these feelings and helps me to stay on the right track. The song is called “Miracle of the Moment” by Steven Curtis Chapman. If you have never heard this song, I highly recommend listening to it NOW! :D and if you have heard it before, I suggest you listen to it again. This song is a beautiful reminder that we need to live in the moment and be thankful for what we have.

The chorus of the song says, “Breathe it in, and breathe it out. Listen to your heart beat. There’s a wonder in the here and now. It’s right there in front of you and I don’t want you to miss the miracle of the moment.”

I just love this because it is a reminder that I am blessed in even the simplest ways. I am alive and able to breathe. I have a heartbeat. I have a body that can go and do and see. This is a reminder that all of this is truly a miracle in itself. Every moment is miraculous if you think about it. This song reminds me that I have so much to be thankful for, starting with the basics like being ALIVE. This song makes me feel alive! It is a reminder that every day I wake up is a gift. It is a gift to have this body that can go and do and see and breathe. It is a gift to be alive! All of the other stuff that I worry about and struggle with gets put on the back burner when I hear this song. I get so caught up in such trivial things, but this manages to put me back in focus. I’m not saying that I never go back to worrying, getting upset, or discouraged, but this is a beautiful song that always helps me remember that every moment is miraculous…. And miracles call for plenty of happiness and celebration. J

So, the next time you feel down, discouraged, or overwhelmed just listen to your heartbeat and be reminded of the miracle that YOU are.

A big thank you to anyone who reads this. Go jam to the song! God Bless!
Love,
Emily
